Casey's Complaints against Jose Baez escalatedPosted by: YourTurnToHelp on May 22, 2009 Tagged in: Jose Baez , hoover , dominic casey , complaints against jose baez , casey anthony updates , Casey Anthony , bozo , bar violations
|

Anthony family Private Investigator Dominic Casey had filed a complaint against Jose Baez with the Florida BAR claiming that Jose Baez had told him not to call 911 if he found the body of Caylee Anthony.
Dominic Casey is the PI that was filmed by Hoover searching the area where Caylee Anthony was eventually found months later.
The procedure for complaints with the BAR is to first examine complaints at the "staff level". From there, if the complaints are not dismissed they are escalated to grievance committee. Which is now where this complaint against Baez is.
The grievance committee is a made up of attorneys and private citizens that investigate the charge to determine if there is probably cause that a bar ethics violation occurred.
If they find that to be the case the complaint will then graduate to the disciplinary process.

I haven't heard anything about whether or not Judge Strickland's complaint has been escalated, but I'm sure the fact that a judge has complained, they are taking these complains VERY seriously. Not that they don't take all complaints seriously, but maybe this one because of Strickland, just a tad more..... I mean, after all, how many complaints are needed against ONE attorney before they finally do something?

3 Complaints Filed With Fla. Bar Against Baez
Posted: 1:26 pm EDT May 21, 2009
Updated: 1:33 pm EDT May 21, 2009
The complaints are being heard by a grievance committee, which is the second step in the process.
Circuit Judge Stan Strickland is one of three people who have filed complaints against Baez.
Another complaint involves private eye Dominic Casey's claim in a police interview that he was told not to call 911 if he found Caylee's body.
The person who filed the third complaint has not been identified.

The complaint DC has made against Baez, I think, is a very serious claim. What were Baez' intentions had DC found the body? Sounds like his usual slimeball tactics. Was Baez going to send someone to "remove" caylee's remains had DC located them? Maybe it's not against the law not to report you know where a body is, but it is a crime to do something with a body after the fact. So, I just wonder what his intentions were. Why would he tell DC NOT to call 911? He needs to be booted!
Also, is the complaint by Judge Strickland about the same matter, or is it something entirely different?

OK, way out in left field here, but could this be a ploy to actually help the defense out (in the long run?)

Oh mimi, I'm sorry to hear about your daughter. Hope she's OK.
As far as my "rambling," heck girl, you think I know what I'm talking about???
I probably shouldn't have posted that question. Just alot of stuff running through my head. Don't know about this Dominic Casey character (except for the rumors that have been flying around for months and months.)
Don't really know who's "side" he is on. Everything is a tangled mess. Just wondering why he waited until now to file the complaint. Can't speak for all complaints, but many of them never amount to a hill of beans.
Just thinking out loud wondering if this is some type of "ploy" (maybe even partly orchestrated by the Anthony's) to make Bozo really appear as ineffective council. (Getting way ahead of myself already worrying about a mistrial or worse yet, grounds for appeals.)
Everyone, shoot me down and help me get these thoughts out of my head....
Mimi, please let us know how your daughter is doing, ok?

jackie, NOW I get it. Ineffective council. You may have something there. Hmmm
Daughter is just a little shaken up. She was in her Infinity with 5 year old in his little seat. Got rear-ended by a Jaguar. They are ok, but the car is a mess!
Thanks for asking.

Mimi, just have your daughter keep a close eye on the little one and herself.
Many times it takes a few days before anyone "realizes" there were injuries (namely whiplash) and aches set in.
My BFF is still dealing with neck issues over an accident from years ago. Poor thing couldn't even go after the guy who hit her because he was uninsured.

Should have read all of the posts more carefully.
Strickland himself has filed a complaint? Hoping that's a good thing!!
It would be nice if Bozo somehow gets removed from this case way before it ever goes to trial.

The only thing about Bozo getting kicked off is that it will probably delay the trial way longer...the new attorney having to get up to date, etc. But it would probably really p*** KC off, which would be really funny!

I agree that anything the Ants do has alterior motives and they will do anything to help their daughter.
I have a couple of questions and ask for your thoughts.
1) Does anyone know if DC is still involved with CA and the Ants? I heard they were on the outs awhile back but that wasnt from a reliable source.
2) Now that the complaint is at the 2nd level, how many more levels are there? I am wondering how quickly the outcome of this complaint could take. If there is tons of red tape is it possible to be unresolved prior to Oct 09?
3) If the bar finds him guilty do we know the maximum penalties? Could it be as simple as a slap on the wrist, without being removed from the case? Is the most drastic measure being permanently disbarred in Fl.?
Thanks

i agree dom casey is covering his arse - if it wasn't for hoovers tape, dc would have never said anything! AND imagine if he found the body, what would have baez instructed him to do? would he have complied? surely it would have been against the law? dc should have a complaint opened against him with the private investigators board!

AwaitingJustice,
Didn't CA refer to "her investigator" on LK Live when asked if they were looking for the real killer of Caylee? I got the impression DC is still involved w/CA at least.
BOZO that scumbag. I wish the Ethics Board could find him GUILTY of the biggest WHINER & worst smirk they have ever seen on such an inexperienced attorney.

I wonder this. Has DC possibly gotten "immunity" from LE? If not, then why hasn't he been charged with obstruction? Something fishy going on here.

Awaiting justice.
you post some good questions. hopefully someone will come on that can help you with that. I am sure there are a number of disciplinary options available for Baez if he is found guilty of wrong doing.
